Job summary

McKim & Creed is hiring a Water/Wastewater Engineering Student Intern in Charlotte, NC. This part-time role starts Summer 2027 for a student pursuing a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

You will support a project team on municipal water and wastewater projects, perform design computations, and assist in drawings and bid documents. The position emphasizes organization, strong writing, and coordination with the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, junior status preferred.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Able to coordinate with Project Manager and design team.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and design services in support of municipal water and wastewater projects as part of a project team.
• Conducts technical evaluations.
• Prepares design computations and assessments.
• Assists in providing design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents.
• Reports to supervisor and completes tasks within budget and schedule.
• Coordinates with Project Manager and design team to complete work efficiently.
