McKim & Creed, Inc. in High Point, NC is offering an Engineering Student Intern, Water/Wastewater position for Summer 2027. You will join the W/WW team to gain hands-on experience in municipal water and wastewater projects and collaborate with a project team to deliver design tasks.

The role emphasizes technical development, communication, and the ability to balance budget and schedule while growing within an employee-owned firm that values people and innovation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, junior status preferred.
• Process-oriented with strong organization.
• Solid communicator with ability to take directives from Project Manager and coordinate with design team.
• Strong writing and verbal skills.
• Able to complete work with moderate flexibility to varying demands from Project Manager(s).
• Requires a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and design services in support of municipal water and wastewater projects as part of a project team.
• Conducts technical evaluations.
• Prepares design computations and assessments.
• Assists in providing design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents.
• Reports directly to their supervisor.
• Responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
• Communicates and coordinates technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with Project Manager and design team to complete work efficiently.
