Job summary

McKim & Creed, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Student Intern in Water/Wastewater for our Clearwater, FL office. This paid internship starts Summer 2027 and offers real hands-on design and evaluation experience within a project team.

You will support municipal water and wastewater projects, perform technical evaluations, and assist in producing drawings, specifications, and bid documents under supervision. Strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Process-oriented individual with strong organization and technical skills.
• Solid communicator, able to take and understand directives from Project Manager and coordinate efforts with design team.
• Strong writing and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and design services in support of municipal water and wastewater projects as part of a project team.
• Conducts technical evaluations.
• Prepares design computations and assessments.
• Assists in providing design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents.
• Reports directly to their supervisor.
• Responsible for completing design tasks within budget and on schedule.
• Communicates and coordinates technical evaluations and designs, technical writing of reports and correspondence with Project Manager and design team to complete work efficiently.
