Job summary

McKim & Creed is seeking an Engineering Student Intern, Water/Wastewater, at our Wilmington, NC office for Summer 2027. This position provides hands-on experience on municipal water and wastewater projects as part of a project team.

As a valued student intern, you will assist with design computations, drawings, and technical reports while learning from experienced engineers. A BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering is pursued, with junior status preferred, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, junior status preferred.
• Process-oriented with strong organization and technical skills.
• Solid communicator capable of taking directives and coordinating with the design team.
• Strong writing and verbal skills.
• Requires a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and design services in support of municipal water and wastewater projects as part of a project team.
• Conducts technical evaluations.
• Prepares design computations and assessments.
• Assists in providing design/construction drawings, technical specifications, and bid documents.
• Reports directly to their supervisor and completes tasks within budget and on schedule.
• Communicates and coordinates evaluations and designs with Project Manager and design team.
