Job summary

McKim & Creed is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Student Intern at our Raleigh headquarters to gain hands-on experience on municipal projects. You will work as part of a project team, performing design tasks, evaluations, and drafting documents under supervision.

The role targets a junior Civil/Environmental Engineering student pursuing a BS degree, with strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage tasks within budgets and timelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, junior status preferred.
• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
• Process-oriented with good organizational abilities.
• Able to coordinate with Project Manager and design team.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and design services for municipal water and wastewater projects as part of a project team.
• Conducts technical evaluations.
• Prepares design computations and assessments.
• Assists in providing design/construction drawings, specs, and bid documents.
• Reports to supervisor and completes tasks within budget and schedule.
• Communicates evaluations and designs with project team to ensure efficiency.
