Job summary

Owen Thomas Group seeks a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing team focused exclusively on water and wastewater projects. You will support the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collaborating with clients and project teams.

The ideal candidate holds a civil or environmental engineering degree, an EIT/FE/PE license, and experience with water and wastewater projects, with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• EIT certification, FE exam, or PE license
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field
• Experience with water and/or wastewater treatment projects
• Experience with planning, design, construction, or commissioning of water/wastewater facilities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage project responsibilities while meeting budget and schedule requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated and able to take ownership of assignments

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of water and wastewater treatment projects
• Perform data analysis, system modeling, process calculations, and hydraulic calculations
• Assist with sizing and selecting facilities and equipment
• Prepare cost estimates, technical memoranda, reports, plans, specifications, and other project deliverables
• Assist with permitting and alternatives analysis
• Provide engineering services during construction, including reviewing contractor submittals and evaluating RFIs
• Participate in site visits, field activities, and pilot testing
• Take on increasing responsibility for project schedules, budgets, quality, and technical delivery as experience grows
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers as appropriate
• Communicate with clients, project teams, and other stakeholders
• Assist with proposals, scopes, fee preparation, and business development activities
• Coordinate project work with engineers, designers, modelers, technicians, and other team members
• Travel to project sites may be required
