Thomas & Hutton in Mount Pleasant, SC is seeking a Civil Engineer to design water and wastewater infrastructure, prepare construction drawings, and support project teams across the Southeast. You will work with municipal clients, participate in client meetings, and contribute to permitting, design, and construction administration activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain (PE path strongly preferred).
• 25 years of experience working with municipal water and wastewater clients.
• Experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of infrastructure projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with hydraulic modeling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings for water and wastewater infrastructure projects including pipelines, treatment facilities, storage tanks, and pump stations.
• Assist with the design and analysis of municipal water and sewer systems.
• Perform hydraulic modeling and system evaluations using tools such as WaterCAD, Innovyze, or similar software.
• Support permitting efforts and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Participate in construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations.
• Manage project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
