Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Project Manager - Water Wastewater Engineer to lead municipal and private sector water and wastewater projects across the Southeast. You will guide design teams, coordinate with agencies, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while building strong client relationships.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Environmental Engineering degree and a PE license, with 7+ years in W&U project design/management and proficiency in Civil 3D, WaterCAD/SewerCAD, and InfoWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 7+ years of experience in the design and management of municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Strong knowledge of Civil 3D, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with InfoWorks WS and/or InfoWater (Innovyze) preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple large or complex projects simultaneously.
• Experience leading and developing project teams.
• Strong understanding of project management principles including scope, schedule, and budget control.
• Proficiency with project tracking tools such as Vision or Microsoft Project.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
• Experience working on projects located in the southeastern United States preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage water and wastewater infrastructure and process design projects for municipal and private sector clients.
• Lead project teams in the preparation of construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Oversee hydraulic modeling and system analysis using tools such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWorks WS, or InfoWater.
• Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders including water/sewer authorities.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance development for project staff.
• Utilize project tracking tools to monitor progress, resources, and financial performance.
• Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
