Job summary

Water Works Engineers, a leading civil and environmental firm, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and analyze systems for water and wastewater facilities. You will size pumps, model hydraulics, and prepare detailed plans and reports, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive project outcomes.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, familiarity with industry codes, CAD proficiency, and a proactive, team‑oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) is preferred.
• 0–7 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in water infrastructure.
• Familiarity with standards such as IMC, IBC, IECC, ASHRAE, ASME, SMACNA, AWWA, NFPA.
• Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) and mechanical analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze mechanical systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Perform pump sizing, hydraulic modelling, and thermal analysis.
• Prepare mechanical plans, specs, and design reports.
• Design HVAC, gas, plumbing, fire suppression, and air conveyance systems.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and assist with field inspections.
• Support energy‑efficient solutions and assist with permits as needed.
