Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson seeks a career-minded Water/Wastewater engineer to join our expanding practice in the Virginia Beach area. You will assist with engineering designs for water and wastewater projects, applying relevant design criteria, regulatory requirements, and standards.

This role requires an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, 0–5 years of experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and ArcGIS, plus strong written and oral communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–5 years of civil engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D and/or ArcGIS.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with alternative studies.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to complete a task.
• Perform design computations.
• Assist in designing projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.
• Assist with developing the project quantities for construction cost estimate.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction.
