Job summary

The City of Leander is seeking a skilled Crew Leader to oversee water distribution and wastewater collection operations in Leander, Texas. You will supervise a crew, troubleshoot faults, and ensure safety and compliance with TCEQ rules while maintaining infrastructure.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily tasks, operating heavy equipment, maintaining schedules, and responding to emergencies with on-call rotations. A strong safety mindset and CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years related work experience or technical training in construction, or water/wastewater utility operations.
• Licenses: TCEQ Class “I” Collection; TCEQ Class “C” water distribution; valid Class “B” CDL; basic first aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates daily work assignments and delegates duties to subordinates.
• Operates heavy equipment and light machinery as required.
• Maintains equipment schedules for maintenance and repair.
• Repairs and/or replaces water and sewer mains, valves, manholes, and hydrants.
• Performs safety inspections and ensures compliance with regulations.
• Available for after-hours call-outs and on-call rotations.
