Job summary

The City of Leander seeks a skilled Water Distribution Operator to support daily operation and maintenance of the water system and ensure compliance with TCEQ and SWDA. You will administer water quality programs, collect samples, and monitor system performance.

Ideal candidate has a high school diploma and at least three years in utility operations, plus a valid Texas Class C license and a TCEQ Class C Water Distribution License.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of water quality testing procedures and EPA standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to work under limited supervision and follow safety procedures.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6:30 am to 4:00 pm and Friday, 6:30 am to 10:30 am.
• Creates, implements, and coordinates water quality programs; testing and monitoring plans to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collects water samples from distribution system and treatment plants; performs routine lab tests.
