Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a Water/Wastewater background for the Charlotte office.

The successful candidate will be accountable for overall project performance from estimating and pre-construction through completion, including safety, owner satisfaction, cost, schedule, and quality control. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Must have relevant water/wastewater construction experience
• Experience in managing self-perform crews is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Developing leader and team player with five plus years of experience in engineering, construction, or related field.
• Proven success in the completion of multimillion-dollar projects.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with client/owner, architect, and engineer to foster repeat work.
• Maintain a positive image of the company with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
• Set up and maintain project cost accounting and schedule.
• Develop and maintain the project schedule and budgets.
• Visit jobsites to review progress, safety, and quality of work.
• Manage change orders and contract compliance from start to close.
