Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer seeks a Construction Manager to support water and wastewater facility construction in the Great Bay and Sacramento regions. You will oversee field operations, documentation, and inspections while coordinating with contractors, engineers, facility managers and owners.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management, 5+ years in heavy construction, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills. Some regional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 5+ years relevant construction experience in heavy construction, mechanical and electrical construction, preferably in the water/wastewater industry.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn construction software (PROCORE, E-Builder).
• PE license is a plus; CCM/OSHA 10 certs are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents including project specifications and drawings.
• Review RFIs and shop drawings prepared by the Contractor.
• Prepare sketches and data for the Design Engineer's use.
• Coordinate communication between the Contractor, Design Engineer, Facility Managers, and Owner.
• Manage field inspection of Contractor's daily operations for contract compliance.
• Perform QC on CM operations.
• Review Contractor's schedules, pay estimates and manage change orders.
• Use cloud-based project documentation such as PROCORE, Unifier, e-Builder.
• Other Construction and Project management activities as needed.
• Interface with clients and perform client management activities.
