Job summary

Daniel O’Connell’s Sons (DOC) seeks an experienced Superintendent to lead field management on commercial, institutional, and industrial construction projects. You will direct layout, safety, and coordination with subcontractors to maintain schedule and budget.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in field supervision, OSHA-30, and strong communication skills. This role involves site work with travel across core markets; a valid license and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant construction experience.
• OSHA 30 Certification, CPR/First Aid Training and Construction Supervisor’s License are required.
• Knowledge of general business software is expected (Outlook, Excel).
• Experience with project management software and scheduling software is required.

Responsibilities

• Detailed planning and management of construction tasks and activities.
• Direct and supervise layout and quality control.
• Manage field personnel; including DOC employed tradespeople and subcontractors.
• Determine staffing needs for tradespeople; work with unions, hire and lay off workers as needed.
• Manage field payroll, review and approve suppliers/vendor invoices.
• Manage and track change order work, including subcontractor time and material work.
• Complete look ahead schedules and provide information for schedule updates.
• Communicate with owner and engineer/architect personnel.
• Ensure the project proceeds on schedule and on budget.
• Identify potential areas of cost savings and value engineering for the owner/client.
• Leader of jobsite safety protocols; ensure everyone on site follows DOC safety rules.
