Job summary

Cognitioworld is seeking an eager student engineer to assist in water and wastewater design, drafting, and permitting tasks in a collaborative environment. The role supports civil/environmental projects for municipal and private clients, with field work and report writing components.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, proficient in Word/Excel, and familiar with AutoCAD or Revit. Growth opportunities exist within a multidisciplinary firm in Pittsburgh.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Engineering, preferably Civil or Environmental, at an accredited college or university.
• Good skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Preferred experience with drafting programs, particularly AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical reports, procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Effective presentation and communication skills with staff members.
• Mathematical skills appropriate to engineering calculations and design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in water/wastewater process and pipeline design projects for private and municipal clients.
• Support Civil Engineering design and calculations for water, wastewater, and stormwater components of Land Development projects.
• Participate in technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, and technical plans.
• Complete permit applications for processing.
• Conduct field work including water sampling, site inspection, and construction administration support with field observation reports.
• Prepare plans using AutoDesk Civil 3D.
