Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Environmental, Water Resources, or Civil Engineering Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience on real-water and infrastructure projects. You’ll work with industry-leading engineers on municipal, federal, and industrial projects, collaborating with interns and multidisciplinary teams.

You will develop engineering calculations, reports, and presentations while using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelor's in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field is required.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate engineering solutions to support project analyses, reporting, and design.
• Assist with the development of engineering calculations, technical reports, project documentation, and presentations.
• Gain hands-on experience using ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, CADD, Excel, and other engineering software.
• Work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support project deliverables and solve engineering challenges.
• Participate in team meetings and gain exposure to client and project interactions.
• Assist with fieldwork and construction management activities, providing a firsthand look at projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Build your professional network while developing technical skills that complement your academic experience.
