Tetra Tech, Inc. in Estero, Florida is seeking a Civil/Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern or EIT to join our team.

The role supports municipal water and wastewater projects, including distribution systems, collection networks, pump stations, and treatment facilities. You will work with experienced engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience in design, hydraulic analysis, permitting, and field activities, and contribute to solutions for aging infrastructure and sustainable water

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience, including internships, academic projects, or related coursework.
• Interest in municipal water and wastewater engineering, utility infrastructure, and civil design.
• Basic understanding of engineering design principles, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including water distribution systems and treatment facilities.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses related to water distribution and hydraulic systems.
• Support preparation of drawings, specifications, design reports, cost estimates, and construction documents.
• Assist with evaluating existing infrastructure and design alternatives.
• Support hydraulic modeling and analysis under guidance of experienced engineers.
• Conduct research on standards, codes, permitting requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare technical memoranda, reports, permit applications, and project documentation.
• Develop charts, figures, maps, tables, and other materials for deliverables.
