Job summary

Timmons Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a skilled Civil Designer to join our Water/Wastewater Group. You will perform civil site designs for municipal water and wastewater projects, collaborating with Project Managers and mentoring junior engineers.

You will lead design tasks, perform QA/QC, and contribute to proposals and client communications, applying strong writing and analytical skills in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in municipal infrastructure design/engineering.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with Revit/BIM 360 preferred.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze problems and propose practical solutions.
• Effective two-way communication with internal staff.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete engineering designs using professional judgment.
• Lead civil site design tasks across diverse infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers.
• Perform QA/QC reviews for technical accuracy.
• Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications.
• Serve as technical expert and PM on smaller projects.
