Job summary

Timmons Group is seeking a Water & Wastewater Treatment Project Manager for our Raleigh, NC office to lead water and wastewater projects across NC and VA. This role emphasizes client relationships, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration within the Raleigh-based Water & Wastewater Group.

The ideal candidate will have a PE license in NC/VA, 6–10 years of municipal water/wastewater design experience, and a strong background in project management and design documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering required.
• P.E. license in NC and VA or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
• 6–10 years of municipal water and wastewater treatment design experience.
• Experience with EnviroSim BioWin wastewater modeling software preferred.
• Strong communication with clients, staff, and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of water and wastewater treatment facility projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.
• Develop technical strategies, select treatment processes, establish design criteria, and produce construction documents.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and communications.
• Cultivate client relationships, negotiate scopes and fees, and support billing and collections.
• Collaborate with internal teams and cross-sell services beyond technical domain.
• Oversee multiple mid-sized and small-scale projects simultaneously.

Water & Wastewater Treatment Project Manager

Timmons Group is actively seeking a skilled and motivated Water & Wastewater Treatment Project Manager to join our Water & Wastewater Group located in our Raleigh, NC office location. The Project Manager will help lead water and wastewater treatment projects across North Carolina and Virginia. This is a key leadership role within our Raleigh-based Water & Wastewater Group, offering the opportunity to drive impactful infrastructure solutions and foster strong client relationships.

Essential Duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Lead the successful execution of water and wastewater treatment facility projects, ensuring quality, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering and Assoc. DBIA Certification preferred.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in North Carolina and Virginia, or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.
• 6-10 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater treatment design.
• Experience with EnviroSim's BioWin wastewater modeling software preferred.
• Proven success working on long-term, multidisciplinary projects.
• Proficiency in engineering software, modeling tools, and CADD.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and prepare technical specifications.
• Strong communication skills with clients, staff, and design teams.
