Central States Water Resources is seeking a Lead Plant Operator Supervisor to oversee daily operations of water and wastewater facilities. You will supervise a team, ensuring safe operation of equipment through inspections and preventive maintenance, while assisting with regulatory compliance across local, state, and federal standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, on-site supervision, and hands-on field work, with a focus on reliability, safety, and training for staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform routine maintenance at assigned facilities.
• Assess problems and diagnose equipment failures.
• Inspect lift stations and valves and ensure proper installation of meters and valve cans.
• Pull motors and pumps for maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain daily maintenance log for regulatory requirements.
• Manage employee performance with HR supervision.
• Submit orders for supplies and oversee inventory.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities and grounds.
• Assist with water and wastewater line repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with team to ensure reliable operations.

Job description

This key role supervises and manages the lead plant operators in the daily operations of their assigned water/wastewater treatment facilities. Responsible for leading the team, ensuring the safe operation of all crucial equipment through regular inspection and maintenance thereof. Assists in ensuring regulatory compliance to local, state, and federal standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform routine scheduled maintenance at assigned facilities
• Assess problems and diagnose equipment failures
• Check the condition of lift stations as needed
• Pull motors and pumps for needed maintenance
• Inspect gate valves
• Locate and mark distribution system facilities
• Ensure the proper installation, relocate, and adjustment of meter boxes and valve cans
• Exterior maintenance of grounds and buildings including lawn and landscaping
• Assist with water and wastewater line repairs and other work as directed
• Always ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility
• Submit orders necessary supplies
• Delegate the completion customer work orders as requiredMaintain a daily maintenance log for regulatory requirements
• Manage employee performance and counseling with the supervision of HR
• All other duties as assigned
