Job summary

Emerald Coast Utilities Authority in Pensacola, FL is seeking entry-level Utility Service Technician Trainees to learn installation and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater systems through ECUA's training and career progression program.

Under supervision, you will assist with water service installations, meter reading, valve and hydrant maintenance, GIS/GPR data collection, and field operations, with on-the-job training and opportunities to advance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Must obtain Florida Level III Water Distribution License within 24 months from date of hire.
• Must obtain Class A CDL with tanker within 24 months from date of hire.
• Must obtain certification in Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) within 24 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with operation and maintenance of Water Distribution and Wastewater systems.
• Assist with installation of water services including tapping main, installing service tubing, and connecting to meters.
• Assist with repair of water main breaks and water meters.
• Assist with emergency shut downs of the water system.
• Assist with maintenance of valves, hydrants, and meters.
• Respond to customer inquiries and contact customers as needed.
