Job summary

City of Winter Haven is seeking a Water Utility Locator to perform field work locating underground water, sewer, and stormwater utilities, reading maps, and assisting crews across the city. The role requires operating GPR equipment, maintaining documentation, and responding to emergencies outside regular hours.

A high school diploma and utility experience are preferred. The position offers full-time hours with benefits, located in Winter Haven, FL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in water/sewer system construction or operation.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Performs field work locating underground water, sewer, and stormwater utilities.
• Reads and interprets maps and plans to assist crews.
• Maintains and operates GPR and locating equipment.
• Prepares clear written reports and time sheets.
• May respond to emergency situations outside normal hours.
