Cape Fear Public Utility Authority is seeking a utility locator to help identify and locate water and sewer utilities. You will work with NC811, read plans, and assist in repair and maintenance of CFPUA systems. This full-time role involves on-call rotation and service across Cape Fear region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of utility locator work experience or related field.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required.
• On-Call rotation with 30-minute response time.

Responsibilities

• Mark and locate CFPUA water, sewer lines, meters, and related assets.
• Operate GPR, CST, and RD equipment to mark utilities.
• Respond to emergency tickets daily and assist in repairs.
• Coordinate with 811 for line location and interpret plans.
• Establish safe work zones and control traffic as needed.
• Complete locate requests and required project paperwork.
