Job summary

Brownsville Public Utilities Board (BPUB) seeks a strategic Managing Director for Water to join its executive leadership team. Reporting to the CEO, this role directs water and wastewater operations to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable services for a growing community.

The position guides long-range infrastructure planning, capital investment, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship within one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; ABET accreditation required.
• 12 years municipal/utility operations experience; 5+ years in senior management.
• Master’s degree preferred and may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs utility operations to ensure safe, reliable, compliant service.
• Leads implementation of strategic priorities and performance objectives.
• Develops short- and long-range strategies and action plans.
• Oversees budgets for O&M and CIP and monitors expenditures.
• Represents BPUB with local, state, and national partners.
