Job summary

City of Raleigh's Raleigh Water – Utilities Division is seeking an on-site Utilities Technician to perform preventative maintenance, utility repairs, and water asset management. The role includes rotating after-hours on-call with standby pay and potential overtime.

Qualified candidates will have high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years in water/wastewater infrastructure inspection or related work, and relevant driver’s licenses. CDL training and license reimbursement are provided by the city.

Qualifications

• Performing routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Providing customer service and handling inquiries related to water services.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive maintenance on water assets and equipment.
• Perform utility repairs, locating, and investigations within the water system.
• Operate heavy equipment and vehicle as required for daily tasks.
• Assist in setting up worksites and traffic control for field projects.
