Job summary
The City of Fort Worth is seeking an Engineering Technician II for the Water Department's Customer Care Division. This role reviews utility and civil plans for compliance and guides builders on utility installation processes, coordinating with multiple stakeholders to support project reviews.
Ideal candidates will have an engineering-related associate degree and 2 years of technical experience, with strong communication skills and a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering or related field required.
- Two years of increasingly responsible technical engineering experience in drafting, project design and plan review for conformance.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
Responsibilities
- Read engineering plans, profiles, water and sewer maps and drainage areas.
- Interpret city ordinances and policies for new and redevelopment projects.
- Review plans to ensure compliance with water and sewer installation policies.
- Analyze development-related problems, research data, and recommend solutions.
- Serve as liaison to city departments, builders, developers and customers.
- Communicate effectively to ensure quality customer service in line with city ordinances.
- Provide complex assistance to managerial staff.
