Position Overview
- This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of water trucks. Drivers will deliver water to dirt crews, paving crews, and pit areas for dust control and grade work.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform proper inspections to pass through port of entry.
- Keep time and material records.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Understand different material types and the grades they are spraying.
- Maneuver and back up equipment.
- Communicate effectively on the radio system.

Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; plus two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
Certificates, License, Registrations
- Valid state Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
- Valid medical card as per DOT standard.
Work Requirements
- One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Incident‑free driving record preferred.
- May be subject to drug, alcohol, and physical agility testing.
Knowledge / Skill Requirements
- Ability to communicate using a two‑way radio.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.

Physical Requirements
The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift and or move any weight up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
The work environment involves occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
