Job summary

Mnawwa is hiring for a municipal water treatment technician to perform loading, unloading, storage and dispensing of chemicals as part of the plant operations. You will work on-site at facilities involving hazardous materials and require strict adherence to safety protocols and permit procedures.

The role includes testing, sampling, chlorination assistance, and routine maintenance tasks. A high school diploma, HAZWOPER certification within 12 months, and a valid driver's license are required;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• HAZWOPER Operations Level Certification within 12 months of hire.
• Valid Driver's License without restrictions for operating City of Minneapolis vehicles.
• Desirable: Class D Minnesota Water Supply System Operator Certificate within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Unload, transfer and handle chemicals used in water treatment and operate related equipment.
• Perform routine testing and monitoring of water and residuals.
• Enter and work in permit-required confined spaces and maintain safety procedures.
• Maintain records of work activities and complete work orders timely.
• Assist in chlorination and maintenance of pumps, piping and reservoirs.
