Job summary

Kubota Water and Environment U.S.A. (KWU) is seeking a Research and Development (R&D) Engineer to advance our wastewater and water treatment technologies portfolio.

The role focuses on evaluating lab, pilot, and full-scale studies across municipal and industrial environments, with on-site work at pilot plants and full-scale facilities in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of wastewater processes, initiative, and the ability to learn new skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in wastewater/water treatment research.
• Knowledge of wastewater sampling and analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to travel up to 50% for pilot studies, conferences, and plant visits.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Observing and evaluating pilot-scale wastewater and water treatment plant operation and testing per the experimental plan.
• Collaborating with Kubota Japan Research Department including data and reports presentations.
• Planning and designing experiments, wastewater treatment process design and modeling, data analysis and interpretation.
• Project management: budgeting, pilot system design, scheduling.
• Technical writing: reports, papers, presentations, white papers, magazine articles.
• Traveling to conferences to present research and represent Kubota.
• Collaborating with engineering firms and treatment plants across the United States.
• Conducting research at facilities with Kubota membranes and MBR systems.
• Assisting KMU Technical Specialists with troubleshooting at full-scale facilities.
• Performing any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
