Job summary

City and County of San Francisco is seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to support the Chlorine Contact Tank Piping Reconfiguration project at Sunol Valley. The role involves hands-on plumbing work across water treatment and related facilities, with emphasis on safety and proper installation practices.

You will follow established methods, read blueprints, and coordinate with engineers and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized five-year plumbers apprenticeship program and journey-level experience.
• Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints and specs.
• Knowledge of safety practices in hazardous environments and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing duties for building alterations, maintenance and repairs.
• Install, alter, repair, and replace plumbing systems including water, drainage and gas lines.
• Conduct annual testing and repairs of backflow prevention devices.
• Install and service valves, pumps, boilers, and related equipment in water treatment facilities.
