Job summary

Job description

Water Treatment Plant Operator

The Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority (BTMUA), a progressive and large public utility, has an immediate opening for a Water Treatment Plant Operator. The Authority owns, operates and maintains a water treatment facility and distribution system serving approximately 86K people and a sewer collection system serving approximately 75K people. This position reports to the Water Treatment Plant Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. Applicants must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.

Duties of the position:

• Monitors and regulates the water plant according to established procedures and set process guidelines through the use of the in-house SCADA system.
• Performs chemical analyses and adjustments as required, as well as recording chemicals used for treatment by utilization of data acquired by the SCADA system.
• Follows all authorized Standard Operation Procedures exactly and provides input on their evolution and/or modification.
• Fully understands all aspects of the SCADA network assigned by the immediate supervisor and expands understanding of such as additions to SCADA are put in place.
• As required, prepares reports and trends of historic data within the SCADA network.
• Monitors operations and data generated by all screens within the SCADA system to ensure compliance with all State, Federal or Authority regulations and/or procedures.
• Performs other general duties such as answering phone calls and, as required, relaying information to appropriate individuals, monitors base station radio and general maintenance assignments.
