Job summary

Village of Palm Springs seeks a supervisory professional to manage the Water Treatment Plant operations. The role oversees staff responsible for filters, pumps, controls, chemical application, and equipment maintenance to ensure safe and uninterrupted water production.

Reports to the Water & Sewer Superintendent and participates in hiring decisions for 8–10 employees. The position requires a high school diploma or GED with college-level coursework and a Florida Class A Water License.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; college level related courses preferred.
• State of Florida Class A Water License is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, effective, uninterrupted operation of water treatment plant equipment including filters, pumps, controls, and chemical application.
• Supervise 8-10 staff; evaluate performance and conduct interviews.
• Investigate, arrange repairs for pumping and treatment machinery.
• Ensure adequate water supply and manage potential increases as needed.
• Supervise lab tests and sampling related to water purification.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and maintain a safety program and train workers.
• Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion, and demotion decisions.
• Assist with budgeting and other related duties as required.
