City of Palm Bay is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator to monitor and operate municipal treatment facilities. You will perform routine maintenance, sample collection, and data recording to ensure regulatory compliance. A valid Florida operator license (A/B/C) is required, with preferred experience in mechanical repair and a clean driving record.

The role may include shift work and on-call duties. Starting salaries vary by license level: A up to $58,784, B up to $53,318, C up to $50,780,

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school plus a minimum of one year of experience in water treatment plant operation.
• Experience in mechanical repair work preferred.
• Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and have and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Level A, B or C Water Treatment Plant Operator License from the State of Florida is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water and/or wastewater treatment plants and related facilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
• Use SCADA systems to monitor processes and adjust controls.
• Collect lab samples and perform analyses; read gauges and meters.
• Prepare and submit logs and reports as required by authorities.
• May be assigned to shift work, weekends, or holidays.
