Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Supervisor to oversee a shift at the Franklin Water Treatment Plant. You will evaluate non-routine situations, manage distribution to maintain water quality and pressure, and supervise chemical feed systems and plant operations.

The hourly rate ranges from $31.20 to $48.75, commensurate with experience. A valid driver’s license and Grade A Water Treatment Plant Operator certification are required or desired.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license; Grade A Water Treatment Plant Operator certification preferred.
• Certifications such as A-Distribution, Grade 1 Physical Chemical, Maintenance Tech encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned shift; create schedules and assign work; monitor performance.
• Conduct plant rounds; supervise distribution system operations.
• Ensure lab work is performed accurately and records maintained.
• Maintain plant equipment and chemical inventories; order chemicals.
• Train personnel on equipment and safety policies; perform performance reviews.
• May assist at other treatment facilities after training and participate in related duties.
