Qualifications

• Must possess a State of Florida Class C or higher Water Treatment Plant Operator license.
• Minimum five (5) years experience as a water plant operator.
• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Valid state driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of valid insurance.

Responsibilities

• Controls water treatment plant and equipment to treat water for human consumption and industrial use.
• Operates pumps and valves to regulate flow into the water plant.
• Adds chemicals to stabilize and disinfect water prior to distribution.
• Monitors GAC reactors and pumps treated water into distribution system.
• Tests water and maintains records per Navy policies and Florida regulations.
• Reads and interprets electronic panels and SCADA; calibrates analyzers as needed.
• Adheres to OSHA safety rules and Lock out/Tag out procedures.
