Job summary

City of Pharr is hiring a Full-Time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to ensure efficient and reliable plant operations. You will inspect equipment, monitor conditions, collect and test sewage samples, and keep precise logs and meter readings to meet regulatory standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to obtain a TCEQ Class D license within a year, plus a Texas Class C driver’s license with a clean record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Within one year, obtain a TCEQ Class D Wastewater Operator's license.
• Texas Class C driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and wastewater treatment processes.
• Ability to read and comprehend work-related documents.
• Ability to control operations of equipment or systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions.
• Collect and analyze sewage samples with analytical test equipment.
• Maintain logs of operations and maintenance; record meter readings.
• Perform general janitorial duties for plant administration building and grounds.
