Job summary

The City of West Monroe seeks an experienced Water Treatment Facility Manager to oversee daily operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for the City’s water treatment facilities. You will lead water treatment personnel, ensure licenses are maintained, and coordinate safety and quality programs.

Responsibilities include monitoring water quality, maintaining records, and communicating with City leadership and regulatory agencies to ensure safe, reliable drinking water for the community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Louisiana driver's license.
• Must possess or obtain State of Louisiana Certified Water Operator Level 3 within 1 year of employment and maintain certifications.
• Experience managing a municipal water treatment facility preferred.
• Experience supervising licensed water treatment operators preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation, maintenance, and performance of the City's water treatment facilities and related systems.
• Supervise, train, and direct water treatment personnel and ensure licenses/qualifications are maintained.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state drinking water regulations.
• Maintain required operational records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
• Monitor water quality, evaluate testing results, and determine corrective actions as needed.
• Respond to water quality complaints and coordinate corrective actions.
• Inspect and operate treatment equipment and systems; collect samples and oversee reporting.
• Establish and maintain preventive maintenance and service schedules for facilities and equipment.
• Monitor plant operations and identify opportunities for maintenance or improvements.
• Respond to after-hours issues to maintain safe water service.
• Supervise performance and coordinate with Public Works leadership.
• Investigate accidents or incidents and coordinate safety procedures.
• Communicate with employees, City officials, contractors, regulatory agencies, and public.
• Attend required meetings and training.
