Job summary

Lincoln County, NC seeks a Water Treatment Plant Superintendent to supervise operations, calibrate lab equipment, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The role involves directing plant staff and maintaining water quality across the distribution system.

The position requires coordinating shifts to meet NCDEQ permit requirements and maintaining essential permit compliance. A Bachelor's degree is preferred with relevant supervisory experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs the operations of a water treatment plant.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.
• Calibrates laboratory equipment.
• Collects water samples and conducts required laboratory tests.
• Inspects equipment to ensure proper plant operation.
• Maintains and repairs equipment to ensure proper operation of pumps, motors, chemical feeds pumps, and Miox generators.
• Collects and analyzes water samples from throughout the water distribution system.
• Performs proficiency tests administered by external providers to ensure maintenance of plant certifications and licenses.
• Backwashes filters as required.
• Schedules Water Treatment Plant Operators to ensure proper shift coverage to meet NCDEQ permit requirements.
• Performs related duties.
