Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking an Austin Water Operations & Maintenance Technician Associate to support wastewater treatment and water distribution facilities. You will work in teams to perform routine operations, monitor SCADA data, collect samples, and assist with preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.

The role requires safety awareness and ability to follow SOPs. Responsibilities include operating process control systems, managing chemical dosages, recording data, and supporting entry

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of related work experience.
• Basic math skills including operations with whole numbers and decimals.
• Ability to read and follow technical guidelines and SOPs.
• Must be able to obtain a Class D Wastewater Operator License within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Operate/assist with process control tasks and monitor treatment operations.
• Assist maintenance: lubrication, oil changes, part replacement, and equipment inspections.
