Job summary

The City of Austin, through Austin Water, seeks an Operations Manager to oversee three water treatment facilities, drive regulatory compliance, and coordinate with the executive team and external partners. You will lead multi-divisional programs and ensure safe, reliable service for the community.

You will manage asset oversight, respond to evolving regulatory requirements, and collaborate with city departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus seven years of progressively responsible experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for two years of non-supervisory/management experience.
• Experience in supervisory, management, or program management roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and evaluates long-range plans for multiple divisions within water, wastewater, and related programs.
• Reviews budgets and coordinates activities across City departments and external partners.
• Ensures compliance with Federal/State regulations and adopts procedures for safety and training.
• Provides technical advice and engages with internal and external stakeholders.
