Job summary

City of Austin is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Technician Associate for Austin Water. You will perform wastewater treatment operations, monitor process control systems, and assist with maintenance tasks across multiple plant locations.

The role requires a high school diploma, license readiness within a year, and ability to work night shifts, weekends, and overtime. Training and growth opportunities are emphasized within a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year related work experience.
• Ability to obtain Class D Wastewater Operator License within 1 year.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver License; CDL endorsements may be required.
• Ability to work in hazardous environments and confined spaces.
• Experience with process control, preventative maintenance, and plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate process control systems to monitor and control treatment processes.
• Manage chemical dosing and test water samples.
• Record results and maintain logs and maintenance records.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, valves, and equipment.
• Assist with rounds and monitoring of SCADA data and alarms.
