Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a non-supervisory Water Treatment Operator to maintain and operate water treatment, processing, and disposal equipment in a plant setting. The role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, data recording, and daily lab and field testing to ensure permit adherence.

Candidates must have a high school diploma and be able to operate pumps, valves, and related devices, with willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use computer programs for process control.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English and follow instructions.
• Ability to learn and operate pumps, centrifuges, generators, valves, and related treatment equipment.
• Comfortable working in a team and taking on new responsibilities.
• Willingness to work rotational 24-hour on-call or respond to emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor operating conditions, meters and gauges to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Record readings and operational data in shift logs.
• Operate equipment to purify water and treat waste per permit standards.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tanks, and work areas.
• Follow EPA and Florida regulations and safety procedures.
• Perform field and lab tests to pace chemical dosages and monitor processes.
• Prepare chemical solutions and manage chemical supplies.
• Assist in maintenance and operate plant vehicles for operations.
