Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a dedicated operator to run the City of Sturgeon Bay water treatment plant and wastewater system. You will monitor processes, collect samples, perform routine maintenance, and ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1–2 years in municipal water, and progression toward Wisconsin CDL and Municipal Water Certification. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in municipal water treatment preferred.
• Must obtain Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License within 1 year.
• Must obtain Wisconsin Municipal Water Certification within 5–7 years.
• Must be able to operate and maintain water/wastewater equipment.
• Ability to read logs, perform math calculations, and use MS Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, inspect and maintain wastewater treatment plant and water system equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance and housekeeping of plant facilities and grounds.
• Collect samples for process control and regulatory reporting; log data.
• Inspect facilities and report problems impacting safety or operations.
• Respond to field issues and locate underground utilities as needed.
• Follow safety programs and company policies; ensure regulatory compliance.
