Job summary

Inframark is seeking a Water Operator II to support the O&M team in Chatham and Danville, VA. You will operate pumps, monitor controls, and perform routine maintenance to ensure clean, safe water delivery.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; college degree in biology, chemistry, or environmental science.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; Water Operator License preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operates water pumping mechanisms to regulate flow and pressure.
• Monitors pumps, valves, turbines, and motors to manage water distribution.
• Cleans systems by backwashing at designated intervals.
• Records reservoir water elevation and power usage for reporting.
• Performs water treatment activities and chemical dosing as directed.
• Maintains, cleans, and stocks materials on trucks and equipment; performs housekeeping duties.
• Calibrates meters and tests water quality (pH, DO, CL2) and records results.
• Operates plant equipment and monitors treatment process for issues.
