Job summary

Veolia is seeking an Operator I to maintain water and wastewater treatment, testing, and processing equipment to meet permit requirements. The role emphasizes learning and independent operation of pumps, valves, meters, and process controls within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include field tests, sampling, routine maintenance, and data reporting. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, some related experience, or an associate degree, with safety and on-call readiness

Qualifications

• Requires ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Proficient in PPE usage and safety protocols.
• Ability to use computer programs for process control.

Responsibilities

• Tend/operate water and wastewater treatment equipment.
• Monitor control panels; adjust valves and gates as needed.
• Perform field tests and collect samples per schedule.
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Record operating data and report variances.
• Respond to emergency calls and work extended hours as required.
• Operate plant vehicles and support team coverage.
