Job summary

Billericalibrary is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator for the 2nd shift in Billerica, MA. The role requires knowledge of water treatment operations, sample testing, and strong computer skills including SCADA and HACH WIMS.

The candidate must hold a High School Diploma or GED, a MA Driver’s License, and a Grade III license from the MA Board of Certification of Operators of Drinking Water Supply Facilities. Substitutions at the Director’s discretion may apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
• Must have a Grade III license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Certification of Operators of Drinking Water Supply Facilities.
• Substitutions for requirements will be at the discretion of the Director of Public Works.
• Knowledge: Through knowledge of principles and practices of water treatment operations and calculations.
• Abilities: Ability to work well with other town departments and staff; communicate effectively; operate standard office equipment.
• Skills: Excellent organizational and customer service skills; proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, SCADA and HACH WIMS; strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate and assist in the proper operation of a public water supply.
• Assist in procuring and testing samples.
• Perform routine mechanical equipment tasks and daily administrative duties as assigned.
• Communicate with town departments and staff; maintain documentation and reporting.
