Job summary

North Sagamore Water District (NSWD) seeks a qualified Chief Treatment Plant Operator to oversee daily operations, preventive maintenance, and compliance of the District’s water treatment facilities. The role is based at Sagamore Beach, MA, and includes weekend rotation and emergency response responsibilities.

The candidate must hold MassDEP Grade 2T (Full) license (Grade 3T preferred) with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in public drinking water treatment and wellfield management.

Qualifications

• Licensure: MassDEP Grade 2T (Full) drinking water operator license required (Grade 3T preferred).
• Grade 2D distribution license preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in public drinking water treatment operations, wellfield management, chemical feed systems, and compliance reporting.
• Proficiency with SCADA systems and remote monitoring.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, calibrate, and maintain water treatment facilities and wellfield assets.
• Maintain full compliance with MassDEP and EPA standards and regulatory reporting.
• Monitor and troubleshoot SCADA network and coordinates testing with labs.
• Manage chemical inventory, deliveries, and dosing adjustments.
• Participate in on-call weekend monitoring and off-hours responses.
• Assist with procurement, contractor oversight, and capital projects.
