Hydromax USA is hiring a Water Technician Trainee in Washington, DC. The 3‑month program will train you to work on valve maintenance or fire hydrant maintenance and assessment. Progression to Water Technician 1 is possible after meeting performance expectations.

Role involves outdoor work on busy streets with safety protocols, driving a 4x4 truck, data collection, and QA duties. No prior experience required; comprehensive training and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Valid DOT medical certification as required by project location.
• Physically capable for field work (lifting up to 50 lbs, walking on varied terrain).
• Willing to travel, some weekends and nights may be required.
• Proficient with mobile devices and data collection apps.
• Able to make safe, informed decisions affecting public safety.
• Experience operating duty vehicles in off-road or challenging conditions.

Responsabilités

• Accurately collect GPS coordinates for all assets.
• Safely operate, maintain, and clean all equipment.
• Gather precise data from inspection points.
• Maintain productivity and discipline throughout the workday.
• Achieve driving score of A-90 or above.
• Use PPE and follow work zone safety protocols daily.
• Learn to maintain/operate hydrants and valves per AWWA standards.
• Perform repairs on hydrants and water main valve nuts.
• Communicate effectively with support staff and field managers.
