Job summary

Hydromax USA is seeking a Water Technician Trainee in Houston, TX. You will join one of three maintenance programs and complete a 3-month trainee path designed to advance you to Water Technician 1.

The role involves outdoor fieldwork along streets and utilities, with safety-first protocols, and opportunities for overtime and advancement. A driver’s license, background check, DOT certification, and travel readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Certification.
• Physically capable of field work, including walking over varied terrain and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to travel as needed, including weekends and some nights.
• Proficient with mobile devices and field data collection apps.
• Demonstrated safety-conscious decisions in field operations.
• Able to operate a 4x4 2500 series truck in off-road or challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect GPS coordinates for all assigned assets.
• Safely operate, maintain, and clean all equipment.
• Gather precise data from each inspection point.
• Maintain productivity and discipline throughout the workday.
• Achieve and uphold a driving score of A-90 or above.
• Wear PPE and follow work zone safety protocols daily.
• Paint, scrape, and clean fire hydrants to meet standards.
• Perform repairs on fire hydrants and water main valve nuts.
• Communicate openly with support staff and field managers.
